The CNC cutting device of water jet cutter is mostly x-axis and y-axis coordinate type, which is suitable for cutting plane parts. Usually, the cutting table moves along the x-axis direction and the cutter moves along the y-axis direction. In this way, the NC device can cut flat parts of any shape. This cutting table driven cutting method is also suitable for combination into automatic production lines.

When the water flow of the high-pressure pump is surplus, there are also numerical control cutting machine devices equipped with multiple cutting guns on the frame beam to cut several identical parts at the same time. Because the numerical control device can also control the up and down movement of the cutting knife, there are also water knife cutting machines for cutting simple three-dimensional parts.

When selecting a water jet cutter, pay more attention to the calculation and processing speed of its controller to ensure that it can keep up with the cutting speed. If the processing speed of the control device is slow, it is difficult to achieve high-speed and correct cutting processing. In addition, the CNC system should also monitor and adjust the water pressure and the notch width at the same time, so that the cut parts can obtain the correct overall dimensions.

In addition to the numerical control cutting device, the robot waterjet cutting device of the water jet cutter currently uses multi joint small robots and gantry robots for processing large structural parts, which are basically the same type as the welding robot. The cutting head is installed on the arm of the robot for cutting various three-dimensional parts.
